You give love a bad name

Love Letters jewellery decorating one of the anthems of the 80s that I think I might have once rollerskated to. This one goes out to Dan and Poppilina.

You give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi

An angel's smile is what you sell
You promise me heaven, then put me through hell
Chains of love got a hold on me
When passion's a prison, you can't break free

You're a loaded gun
There's nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Chorus:
Shot through the heart
And you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love a bad name

Paint your smile on your lips
Blood red nails on your fingertips
A school boys dream, you act so shy
Your very first kiss was your first kiss goodbye

You're a loaded gun
There's nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Chorus:
Shot through the heart
And you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love a bad name

Baby,

I'm holding a lit cigarette lighter aloft in one hand...

And I'm doing the cosmic sign with the other.

Rock on.

ps. I have a serious thing going for that bullet heart creation.

Really.

HOW DOES A MAN WITH AN OVERBLOWN MULLET MANAGE TO BE SO PROFOUND?
Love is so tragic - especially in the 80's ( it was hard not be distracted by those huge plastic clown earrings and the overpowering smell of hairspray.
Youre beggin me to go, youre makin me stay
Why do you hurt me so bad?
It would help me to know
Do I stand in your way, or am I the best thing you've had?
Believe me, believe me, I cant tell you why
But I'm trapped by your love, and I'm chained to your side

We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield

in the 80s you had to look beyond the mullet to find the scared little boy inside, beyond the enormous clown earrings to find the enchantress. love had us in its claws wrapped up in chains while loading a gun and it wouldn't let go.
thanks for the Benetar shannon- balances out the jovi.
